Does garlic make you thirsty?

I like food with garlic. It tastes great, but I end up drinking a liter of water with it. Why is that?

Now that I think about it, when I make pizza and spaghetti at home (to which I add garlic) I do drink more water than usual after. And, I'm not adding any extra salt to those dishes. In fact, the spaghetti just consists of the sauce & pasta & garlic. Huh....I don't know, but I'd love to find out the answer to the question.

I don't think it's because of garlic. I think when you eat anything with a strong good flavor it makes you want to drink more.
